    Hi Oscar,

I just recently stumbled onto your site while looking for info on Kurt Rosenwinkel, very interesting site!

Good news, like you, I have a PRS DGT SE (albeit the one with the birds,,, there was a delay in the beginning getting the gold tops to market because they initially had some problems with consistency of the Goldtop finishes…, and I couldn’t wait any longer!) I also upgraded to locking tuners already.

I also have a PRS Custom Semi-Hollow SE Soapbar (circa 2007j, with mods to locking tuners, upgraded bone nut, John Mann bridge, and Lollar P-90 pick-ups.

in general, I find the PRS SE line to be very solid, stable, high quality platforms for mods and upgrades, to sound like guitars much more expensive.

I didn’t find some other of my favorite guitarists on your pages, for example, Derek Trucks, the master of slide that took over for Duane Allman (also missing?), and melded slide with East Indian microtonals, and bursts of jazz. (Maybe I missed finding him via your search bar…?) Taj Mahal? Mark Knopfler? Maybe the more I continue to explore your site, I will find them…

I worked in Mexico City regularly visiting Clients from 2003-2015, but am now retired and have not been there since that era.

    Cheers,

    Tony

      Hi Tony,

Thanks for your comment, and sorry for the late reply—this year has been quite hectic on my end, and I only just had a chance to go through comments and saw yours.

Great to hear you also have a PRS DGT SE. I own one as well, along with a PRS Core Custom 22 that I bought around 2001, though I still haven’t written a review of that one. Comparing the SE line to my USA-made Core, I can say the SE lineup is impressively solid. I’ve also tried other guitars made by Cortek (the manufacturer behind the SE line), and there’s a noticeable difference—PRS instruments really stand out in terms of build quality and workmanship. Kudos to PRS for maintaining that level of consistency.

There are still many players I haven’t featured on the site, but I hope to keep adding more over time. By the way, I was born and raised in Mexico City, where I still live.

Thanks again for visiting the site and for taking the time to comment. All the best!
